<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly strong woven texture for protection against rockfall that sufficiently exerts the strength of fibers themselves, and a protective fence against rockfall using the woven texture. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The woven texture 1 for protection against rockfall includes a plurality of planar fiber bundles 2 composed of a multiplicity of fibers continuous in their whole lengths that are arranged longitudinally in horizontal rows, and rows of woven chains 3 arranged between the fiber bundles 2. At the front and back sides of the woven texture 1, the fiber bundles 2 are held between adjacent rows of woven chains 3 from both sides by connecting threads 4 and 5 woven alternately into the woven chains 3, thus kept linearly in the longitudinal direction. In the longitudinal direction, a plurality of insertion threads 6 are arranged in a planar way to be inserted and held in seams of the woven chains 3 at the positions at which the insertion threads 6 intersect the woven chains 3.
