<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-sized imaging apparatus capable of capturing with no contact a high-definition image suppressing "distortion" and "color shift", in particular, a large-sized imaging apparatus capable of imaging with no-contact large-sized cultural properties. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A large-sized imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging unit constituted of a lens system and an image sensor; a bridge unit constituted of two bridging parts holding the imaging unit and bridge leg parts fixed in both ends of the bridging parts; and a body frame including rails and a rack. A supporting plate comprising recesses corresponding to the rails, a gear corresponding to the rack and a stepping motor for driving the gear is fixed in the middle of the bridge leg parts.
