<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate initial water pouring into a cooling flow channel of a furnace core melted product cooling device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The furnace core melted product cooling device for cooling core melted product generated by the melting of a core 40 accommodated in a reactor pressure vessel 1 placed above a lower dry well 13 includes: a vessel 62 placed in the lower dry well 13 and opening upward; a structure formed of stainless steel 60 and concrete 61 constituting the cooling flow channel 11 extending to an opening 16 which it opens to the lower dry well 13 communicating with the vessel 62 along its lower outside face; and an initial water-feed means for supplying the cooling water of volume smaller than a volume of a space communicating with the cooling flow channel 11 below the outer edge 24 of the vessel 62 before the core melt falls into the vessel 62 into the cooling flow channel 11.
