PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical glass having an optical constant of middle refractive index and low dispersion, low in glass transition temperature Tg and hardly causing crack, and to provide an optical device comprising the optical glass. SOLUTION: The optical glass contains glass components by mass of 35-45% (excluding 45%) P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, 0.5-10% (excluding 10%) B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-16% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-2.5% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0-26% BaO, 0-20% SrO, 23-49% ZnO, 6-20% (excluding 6%) CaO, 0-16% MgO, where the total content of BaO, SrO, ZnO, CaO and MgO is ≤55%, 0-1% (excluding 1%) Li<SB>2</SB>O, 3-19% Na<SB>2</SB>O and 0-20% K<SB>2</SB>O, where the total content of Li<SB>2</SB>O, Na<SB>2</SB>O and K<SB>2</SB>O is ≤24%.
