PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane module capable of preventing the channeling from occurring therein and exhibiting stable and high permeation performance while suppressing occurrence of a product of defective quality such as flattening or closure of the hollow fiber membrane module. SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane module comprises hollow fiber membranes to which crimps are applied according to such a process that the hollow fiber membranes run along rods on the outer circumferential surface of rollers while changing the proceeding direction and, at the same time, are pinched into an engagement part between rollers in a crimp-applying device composed of at least one pair of rollers provided with a number of rods on the outer circumferential surfaces, wherein an average value of urea clearance in an aqueous solution system measured by using five hollow fiber membrane modules is 170 ml/min/m<SP>2</SP>or more and a standard deviation thereof is 10.0 or less.
