<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal concentration monitor capable of outputting a turbidness occurrence without large load to the monitor even under measurement environment where sudden turbidness is observed in waste water. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The monitor includes a sampling control section 31 sampling periodically a sample liquid and supplying it to a reservoir; a turbidness sensor 18 detecting a turbidity of the sample liquid in the reservoir; a turbidness condition announcing section 32 outputting an occurrence of turbidness condition when the turbidity of the sample liquid in the reservoir exceeds a threshold; a sample liquid exchange control section 33 discarding the sample liquid with the turbidity exceeding the threshold from the reservoir, sampling newly a sample liquid, and supplying it to the reservoir; and a sample injection control section 34 injecting a part of the sample liquid into a furnace of a furnace atomic absorption spectrometer when the turbidity of the sample liquid in the reservoir does not exceed the threshold.
