<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a machine tool in a desired working direction conforming to a characteristic value such as a work without drawing a work line. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sensor reads the characteristic value related to a work trajectory of the machine tool from a workpiece, the read characteristic value is converted, a control signal for the characteristic value is obtained, and the machine tool is braked by this control signal.
