PURPOSE: A transmission control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle and a method of the same are provided to minimize a transmission shock when a request of a kick-down transmission occurs during a driving with a motor. CONSTITUTION: A transmission control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle comprises: a Motor/Generator unit(22) operating by a signal from an inverter through a control of a motor control unit(17); the inverter operated from an electric energy stored inside a battery; a hybrid acceleration pedal(45) maintaining a state of a current direct connection of an engine clutch and a count of a target slip rotation when a request of a kick down shift transmission is occurred from an operation state of an acceleration pedal(41); and a hybrid control unit operating a handshaking to reset an engine torque and a motor torque.
