<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an inductance of a power module for a vehicle while suppressing an increase in volume, and to achieve a reduction in inductance even in a power converter for a vehicle which uses the power module for a vehicle, while suppressing an increase in volume. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a power module for a vehicle and a power converter. The power module for a vehicle includes a power semiconductor element, a plurality of connection conductors for transmitting a current to the power semiconductor element, and a metal base on which the power semiconductor element and the plurality of connection conductors are mounted. The power semiconductor element and the plurality of connection conductors are mounted so as to form a loop current path on the metal base.
