<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color region setting method for properly reading an optical automatic recognition symbol even when image pickup conditions significantly change. <P>SOLUTION: Each cell color space in an HSB space is subdivided into three partial spaces of one central section and two peripheral sections, and a quasi-cell color space is arranged between a cell color space and a quiet zone color space, and HSB subdivision spaces are defined. On the basis of the HSB subdivision spaces, a computer classifies the colors of cells configuring an optical automatic recognition symbol into any partial space. For example, when the optical automatic recognition symbol is configured of colors positioned at three points 60a, 60b and 60c, color information "rb" of the point 60b is converted into color information "B". Also, when the optical automatic recognition symbol is configured of colors positioned at the three points 65a, 65b and 65c, color information "qg" of the point 65b is converted into color information "G". <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
