PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus which operates as usual without forcibly disconnecting a telephone line or stopping some functions when the importance of information included in an earthquake early warning is low. SOLUTION: A communication apparatus has an earthquake intensity determining part that determines whether or not an estimated earthquake intensity included in earthquake information exceeds a preset threshold. In addition, the communication apparatus has an alarm controller that controls an alarm based on the determination result of the earthquake intensity determining part. The alarm controller prohibits the alarm from giving notification of the earthquake information when earthquake early warning is received and the earthquake intensity determining part determines that the estimated earthquake intensity is less than the threshold. Further, the alarm carries out a function stop process that stops a predetermined function provided to the communication apparatus, for example, a call function or the like, for a predetermined time period after an earthquake information calculating part receives the earthquake early warning. When the earthquake intensity determining part determines that the estimated earthquake intensity is less than the threshold, the alarm controller prohibits the alarm from stopping the function.
