PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of automatically lifting/lowering a drain pan and of drastically improving efficiency of maintenance work. SOLUTION: The air conditioner 10 includes an indoor unit 11 including an indoor unit body 16, a first heat exchanger 13 fixed to the indoor unit body 16 and a drain pan integral decorative panel 19 covering the lower side of the indoor unit body 16. The indoor unit 11 has suspending wires 23 for suspending the drain pan integral decorative panel 19 from the indoor unit body 16 and a lifting/lowering motor unit 24 for winding up and delivering the suspending wires 23. The indoor unit 11 is further provided with a float switch 30 for detecting drain water collected in the drain pan 20 and a lifting/lowering control device prohibiting or restricting the operation of the lifting/lowering motor unit 24 when drain water detected by the float switch 30 exceeds predetermined amount.
