PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an NC lathe and the like can easily and efficiently carry out rapid feed movement of a tool and a workpiece relative to each other. SOLUTION: The control device 1 for an NC lathe includes: a driving control part 19 for controlling a feed mechanism part 25 by generating a driving control signal based on an operation command extracted by a workpiece shape renewing process part 18 and a program analysis part 16; and a tool route changing process part 20 for first specifying a corner part of the workpiece based on a workpiece shape stored in a workpiece shape storage part 13 when determining rapid feed operation commands are continued based on the extracted operation commands, and, after setting a first point set at a position a predetermined distance away from the predetermined corner part, points one by one on each straight route based on the rapid feed operation command, and a curve passing through these 3 points, correcting the driving control signal generated in the driving control part 19 and sent to the feed mechanism part 25 into such a driving control signal in which a tool moves along the set curve based on the continued rapid feed operation commands.
