PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting passing of a magnetic substance to detect whether a magnet substance such as a ball passes in non-contact and high precision. SOLUTION: The device for detecting passing of a magnetic substance includes a first magnet 11 and a second magnet 12 on a substrate 2, and a magnetic sensor 20 positioned in the middle of both the magnets 11, 12, and the magnetic sensor 20 has a magnetic resistive effect element 21. When the ball 5 being a magnetic substance does not pass in a passage 3, a magnetic flux of a Y1 direction directed from an N pole magnetization face 11a of the first magnet 11 to an S pole magnetization face 12b of the second magnet 12 is detected with the magnetic sensor 20. When the ball 5 passes in the passage 3, magnetic flux density of the Y1 direction detected with the magnetic sensor 20 is lowered since the magnetic flux from the N pole magnetization face 11a is guided to the inside of the ball 5.
