PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sudden disengagement between an internal gear 6 and a carrier gear 5. SOLUTION: A power tool has a shift arm 21 connected to the internal gear 6, and a shift knob 20 connected to the shift arm 21 and exposed from a housing 1. The shift knob 20 is provided with a recess 20A extending in a direction substantially orthogonal to a shaft direction in which a pinion 3 is rotated.
