The device has a support element (6) connected to a lower end with a fastening device (5). A handle holder (7) i.e. U-shaped clamp, is movable between a non-usage position in which the holder rests against the support element, and a usage position in which the holder is protruded over a side (6b) of the support element turned away from a headrest (3) such that an article of clothing is hanged. The holder is linearly adjustable at the support element. The holder is hinged out in an intermediate position defined by a stopper into the usage position, which is defined by another stopper.
