<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission member capable of suppressing the torsional resonance of a driving system when coupling a lock-up clutch at a low speed while securing durability and steering stability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A drive shaft 10 is used for a vehicle having a torque converter 16 with a lock-up clutch, and includes an intermediate shaft member 38 in which torsional rigidity when the lock-up clutch 29 is coupled is lower than that when the clutch is uncoupled. Thus, the resonance frequency of a driving system when coupling the lock-up clutch 29 is lower than that when uncoupling the clutch, and the occurrence of the torsional resonance of the driving system can be suppressed when the lock-up clutch 29 is coupled at a low speed. Furthermore, for example, during accelerated travel, the torsional rigidity when the lock-up clutch 29 is uncoupled is higher than that when the lock-up clutch 29 is coupled, and the durability of the drive shaft 10 and the steering stability of the vehicle can be secured.
