VOICE SYNTHESIS SYSTEM

A system (100) includes a client device (10) and a server device (20).  The client device receives character string information representing a character string and transmits a phoneme piece request to the server device.  The server device stores the items  of phoneme piece information.  The server device receives the phoneme piece request transmitted by the client device and transmits the items of phoneme piece information to the client device so that the items of phoneme piece information are received by the client device in different order from the order in which phoneme pieces are arranged in the voice corresponding to the character string in response to the received phoneme piece request.  The client device rearranges the items of phoneme piece information to perform voice synthesis processing so that the phoneme pieces represented by the received items of phoneme piece information are arranged in the same order as the order in which the phoneme pieces are arranged in the voice corresponding to the character string.
