PURPOSE: An asynchronous mobile communication terminal and a method for setting time of the terminal are provided to reduce the difference between time displayed on a mobile communication terminal and real time, thereby providing accurate time to a terminal user. CONSTITUTION: A SIM card(13) stores URL information of an international standard time providing server. A wireless communication unit(15) communicates with the international standard time providing server. A time setting unit(16) sets current time corresponding to location information. A controller(11) transmits a time information request message. The controller receives time information corresponding to updated location information to set current time.
