<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method of authenticating a user of a position-indicating function, which prevent a situation where an article position is found by a position-indicating function by a third party and that an article is illegally used, even if the position-indicating function is installed in a mobile terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle 1 is provided with a car finder system 21 notifying a user about a vehicle position by an electronic key 2. The vehicle 1 is provided with a car finder function user authentication system 30 for prompting the user of a car finder function to execute authentication.
