<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a density sensor, which can prevent soiling of a lens surface of the density sensor due to suspended toner and prevent electric adsorption caused by frictional charging with simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A ground 315 is provided to prevent soiling from occurring when the lens surface 310 is charged.
