PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm device for a projector excellent in durability, which is constituted so that two electromagnetic actuators rotate two diaphragm members made of metal to open outward like hinged double doors by output pins made of synthetic resin and integrated with permanent magnet rotors thereof. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic actuators AC1 and AC2 are attached to an outer surface of a plate part 1a, and the output pins 33b and 25c made of synthetic resin and integrated with the rotors 33 and 25 penetrate to the inner surface side of the plate part 1a from circular-arc slots 1i and 1j. The two diaphragm members 16 and 17 made of metal and having light shielding plates 16a and 17a are rotatably attached to shaft members 8 and 9 erected on an inner surface of the plate part 1a through integrated mediating members 20 and 18 made of synthetic resin, and rotated in opposite directions simultaneously by the output pins 33b and 25c fit in slots 20a and 18a of the mediating members 20 and 18.
