<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a catalyst, in which a metal fine particle can be deposited on the surface of a titanium-containing silicate porous body in a highly dispersed state by a comparatively simple operation in a shorter time and by more saving energy in comparison with a method using ultraviolet rays, and the catalytic activity of the catalyst can be improved satisfactorily. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the catalyst comprises the steps of: suspending the titanium-containing silicate porous body in a metal salt-dissolved solution; and irradiating the obtained suspension liquid with a microwave to deposit the metal fine particle on the surface of the titanium-containing silicate porous body.
