<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner with reduced noise during operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An electric blower 12 housed in the vacuum cleaner 1 includes a flow straightening plate part 19 disposed on the periphery of a centrifugal fan part 17. An upstream flow straightening plate 68 of the flow straightening plate part 19 includes a trapezoidal cross-section in a radial view of the electric blower 12. The radial cross-sectional shape of the upstream flow straightening plate 68 is formed into a trapezoidal shape which includes an upper bottom larger than a lower bottom in width, when the upper bottom is a side positioned on the front side of the electric blower 12 and the lower bottom is a side positioned on the back side of the electric blower 12.
