<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, apparatus, and program for computing an ARDS severity score from CT images without relying on visual perception. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method in an execution mode includes the step to classify whether each lung field region is a lesion or normal region based on CT data, and the step to classify for the each lung field region whether the lung field region is the lesion or the normal region, to compute the score of the lung field region from at least a dispersion of computed CT values and entropy of CT values when the lung field region is the lesion one, and to compute the ARDS severity score of the lung field region.
