The present invention relates to a block for building a revetment and a construction method thereof, and more particularly, to an easy-to-install revetment building block having steel bars arranged on each face of the block for reinforcement and a construction method thereof. The present invention is characterized by an anchor block for building a revetment using a variety of blocks such as an anchor block, a nail block, a vegetation block, a corner block, a band block, etc. wherein a cutting slope is reinforced through an anchor and a nail, and wherein the block comprises: a body having an anchor plate support formed on the front face thereof, an anchor hole formed in a way that it passes obliquely through the front and rear faces thereof, an empty, vertical through space formed therein, and insertion grooves, into which fixing members for fixing blocks to be stacked vertically are inserted, formed on top and bottom faces thereof; and indentations for receiving brackets at the joint portions between neighboring blocks and formed at left and right, and upper and lower sides of the body such that the stacked bodies may be prevented from wobbling and be firmly anchored.
