PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering controller capable of appropriately performing the control of vehicle's behavior based on the control requirement from other control units, even if the current magnitude to an assist motor is restricted so as to prevent overheating and so forth of the assist motor and its drive circuit. SOLUTION: A current limiting performing section 203 sends current limiting command to a motor current determination section 202 and control preference judging section 205 in response to the driving state of the driving system for the assist motor 102. A correction torque command value calculation unit 206, when a current limiting is being imposed on the motor current determination section 202 by the current limiting performing section 203, sends a limitation alteration command to the motor current determination section 202 together with a correction torque command value so as to cause a current of correction torque command value exceeding the current limiting amount to be output from the motor current determination section 202 to the assist motor 102.
