Cellulosic material is treated with a 5-50% aqueous solution of one or both of the agents I and II: wherein m is 1.0-2.7 and n is 1.0-1.8. The solution may also contain hexamethoxymethylmelamine. The material may absorb 5-50% of agent. The agent is fixed by heating the dried impregnated material for 2-20 minutes at 100-200‹C. The material may be after-treated with hot dilute aqueous alkali metal hydroxide or carbonate.
