PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorant for toner which has high concealing property, excellent color developing property and coloring property, and constant charging property, and to provide a toner and a developer containing the colorant for toner. SOLUTION: The colorant for toner is made of composite particles, which comprise pigment particles dispersed in a polymer phase containing a structural unit derived from polymerizable crosslinking monomers and a structural unit derived from water-soluble monomers and which have at least one vacancy in the particle.
