<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display wherein visual field angle characteristics are improved and enhancement of a numerical aperture is expected. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a driving electrode structure including a rectangular display electrodes 81, 82, 83 arranged in a tile shape in vertical and horizontal directions at intervals and signal lines 71, 72, 73 for supplying signals to the rectangular display electrodes, the signals having polarities reverse to each other are applied between the display electrodes adjacent to each other in the display electrodes arranged in the tile shape.
