<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical device for performing circular anastomosis of hollow organs utilizing magnetic force that is easy to use and produces a reliable anastomosis, placing the hollow organs in flow communication. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus for joining organ wall portions of first and second hollow organs includes first and second connectors, wherein the first and second connectors are magnetically attracted to each other, and a device for delivering and deploying the first and second connectors to portions of the first and second hollow organs, wherein the device is configured and dimensioned to axially align the first and second connectors for performing a circular anastomosis of the first and second hollow organs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
