<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic position detection device can perform fast scanning in a relatively simple circuit configuration, and a position detection method. <P>SOLUTION: A one-shot pulse at 200 kHz is sequentially applied to a plurality of electrodes in a cycle of a frequency equal to an integral multiple of 200 kHz.
