<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving resistance to crush deformation of a portion of a heat-resistant square bottle, near a shoulder ridge line, when the bottle is decompressed. <P>SOLUTION: A synthetic resin-made square bottle includes a quadrangular tubular body part the corners of which are beveled and includes a mouth tube extending upright via the trapezoidal shoulder of a substantially quadrangular tube continuous with the body part. In this bottle, a decompression absorbing panel is formed in the sidewise middle portion of a flat wall composing each sidewall of the body part. A shoulder rib in the form of a recess is formed in a place where the shoulder lower end part serving as a connecting portion for the shoulder part and the body part is opposite the sidewise middle of the flat wall. A vertical groove rib is formed in an area extending to the shoulder lower end part from the widthwise middle of the upper end part of the flat wall of the body part across a shoulder ridge line formed in a circumferential direction on a boundary between the body part and the shoulder part. The width Wp of the upper end part of the decompression absorbing panel, the width Ws of the shoulder rib, and the width Wc of the vertical groove rib satisfy Wp>Ws>Wc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
