<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining method which excels in higher and stable machining accuracy and working efficiency, in a very simple manner without the need of complicated control part, and also to provide a machine used in the method. <P>SOLUTION: In the machining method, a prescribed part of a base material 10 (workpiece) is irradiated with a laser beam LB to provide a pierced part (local cutting) 16 of a prescribed shape. The method includes a conversion layer forming process in which a thermal energy conversion layer 12 for absorbing light energy and converting it to thermal energy is formed in the prescribed part of the base material 10, and includes an irradiation process in which the part of the thermal energy conversion layer 12 and a part 14 which is near the thermal energy conversion layer 12 and is a part where the light energy is not converted to the thermal energy is continuously irradiated with the laser beam LB. By the irradiation process, only the part of the base material 10 having the thermal energy conversion layer 12 irradiated with the laser beam LB is pierced, and the pierced part (local cutting) 16 is arranged in the prescribed part of the base material 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
