PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect damage on an electronic device caused by an impact and prevent a harmful effect by the impact in an ideal state. SOLUTION: The electronic device includes an acceleration sensor 8 for detecting acceleration and an arithmetic circuit 52 for computing a height of fall based on the acceleration detected by this acceleration sensor 8. The arithmetic circuit 52 computes an acceleration signal to be input from the acceleration sensor 8 to detect the height of fall and determines a degree of fall based on the height of fall.
