<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method of a battery enabling to weld to joint an electrode plate edge part 2 of an electrode body in the battery with a collector terminal 4 locally in a short time so as not to melt an insulation sheet even if a distance between a welding part and the insulation sheet is made narrow and moreover to make smaller the size of the battery. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the welding method of a battery for welding to joint an electrode edge part 2 of the battery with a collector terminal 4 by using a torch 7, a jig 8 provided with a through-hole 8a for making smaller a diameter of an arc column of arc-welding arranged at a position corresponding to a welding point 4b is used by inserting between the torch 7 and the welding point 4b, enabling welding to be carried out via the through-hole 8a.
