<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform easy washing of the whole length of a fishing line with a compact device without using a washing vessel for exclusive use. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The whole length of a fishing line is easily washed with a compact device without using a washing vessel for exclusive use by providing a cylinder member 2 formed separately from a pair of side plate members 5a, 5b, making the diameter of the cylinder member 2 to be expandable and constrictable, winding the fishing line on the cylinder member 2 of expanded state, constricting the diameter after winding to form water-passing gaps throughout the whole length of the loosened fishing line and washing the wound fishing line in loosened state by pouring water on the spool or immersing the spool in a vessel such as a basin and a bucket filled with water.
