PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which is effective to easily and properly detect information on consumption of chemicals in a water treatment apparatus performing chemical treatment of water to be treated using the chemicals. SOLUTION: The water treatment apparatus 100 performs sterilization of the water to be treated in a sterilization device 120 by eluting a disinfectant 122 in a chemical cylinder 121 into the water to be treated, and comprises a magnetic sensor constituting part 150 operated based on magnetism received from a magnet whose storage position in the chemical cylinder 121 is variable in accordance with the consumption of the disinfectant 122. The magnetic sensor constituting part 150 is constituted using lead switches in which two magnetic lead pieces arranged on the same axis in the vertical direction are faced at a prescribed contact gap in lead contacts, and are contacted each other in the lead contacts upon a switch operation when the magnet is detected, and the lead switches are arranged by two or more pieces at least in either direction of the extending direction of the chemical cylinder 121 and a direction crossed with the extending direction in the outer face side of the chemical cylinder 121.
