摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a particulate matter (PM) trapped in an EGR filter such as a diesel particulate reactor (DPR) arranged in an EGR passage without raising the temperature of the filter, in a control device for an internal combustion engine provided with an EGR device recirculating a part of exhaust gas discharged from a combustion chamber to an exhaust passage to an intake passage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The control device for the internal combustion engine includes an exhaust-side communication passage 66 connecting an EGR passage 61 upstream of the DPR 64 arranged in the EGR passage to an exhaust passage 12 downstream of a turbocharger 5, and an operating valve V2 closing one of a connection passage 61a to the exhaust passage 12 of the EGR passage 61 and the exhaust-side communication passage 66 and opening the other passage. When a regeneration condition is satisfied, the connection passage 61a of the EGR passage 61 is closed and the exhaust-side communication passage 66 is opened, thereby intake air made to flow into the intake passage 11 is passed through the DPR 64 arranged in the EGR passage and made to flow downstream of the turbocharger 5.
