<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreceptor having good image characteristics with less change in sensitivity even under low temperature/low humidity conditions, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes an intermediate layer between a conductive support and a photosensitive layer, wherein the intermediate layer contains at least a binder resin and titanium oxide particles the surfaces of which are coated with alumina and silica, and the binder resin is a polyamide resin having a structural unit expressed by the general formula. In the formula, m represents an integer of 10 to 70, n represents an integer of 10 to 40, p represents an integer of 15 to 35, and q represents an integer from 5 to 35, satisfying m+n+p+q=100.
