A method and a radio access apparatus for limiting transmitting power of terminal are disclosed in embodiments according to the present invention, wherein, the method for limiting transmitting power of terminal includes that: acquiring a transmitting power value of a radio access apparatus; acquiring a downlink interference value in the coverage area of the radio access apparatus; determining a limiting transmitting power value of a terminal based on the transmitting power value of the radio access apparatus and the downlink interference value; controlling the transmitting power of the terminal to be less than or equal to the limiting transmitting power value of the terminal. The embodiments according to the present invention limit the transmitting power of the terminal based on the transmitting power of the radio access apparatus and the downlink interference strength in the coverage area of the radio access apparatus, such that the uplink coverage balances with the downlink coverage on the whole, and the uplink interference to other adjacent access apparatuses that is caused by the terminal is reduced.
