The fastening device (20,21) has a cavity which is inserted in an outer wall (10) of a pipe (1). A temperature sensor is fixed by a sheet which is held in slots of the pipe. The temperature sensor is engaged in the cavity and is fixed in the sheet. The cavity is formed in an oblong shape. An independent claim is included for a method for fastening a temperature sensor at the outer wall of a pipe.
