PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the cause of abnormality in a short time by grasping the sequence of events resulting in the abnormality of an apparatus. SOLUTION: The recorder has a volatile memory and a nonvolatile memory. The recorder is constituted to: intermittently store its own state to a first area 83a of the volatile memory as a first information; edit the information showing its own state before the occurrence of the abnormality based on the first information when the importance of the abnormality is higher than a predetermined criterion; store the state before the occurrence of the abnormality to a second area 83b of the volatile memory as second information, the state at the occurrence of the abnormality to a third area 83c of the volatile memory as third information, the state after the occurrence of the abnormality to a fourth area 84d of the volatile memory as fourth information, and the time at the occurrence of the abnormality to a fifth area 83e of the volatile memory as fifth information; and store the second to fifth information to the nonvolatile memory when it is determined that the information on the abnormality of the own apparatus is not stored in the nonvolatile memory.
