PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording control unit capable of effectively utilizing storage resources, such as an HDD, by control of automatic recording of programs. SOLUTION: The recording control unit has: a recording setting means for setting a recording time zone and the number of recording days for each of a plurality of channels; a plurality of station selection means for selecting a broadcast signal of one channel from among broadcast signals of the plurality of channels; a recording control means for controlling recording of each broadcast signal of the plurality of channels selected by each of the plurality of selection means, based on the respective set recording time zone of the plurality of channels; a viewing history collection means for collecting a viewing history of recorded data recorded by the control of the recording control means; and a change means for changing the number of recording days set to each of the plurality of channels, based on a viewing frequency of each channel included in the viewing history.
