<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for obtaining agomelatine of the crystal form V with properties that are suitable for pharmaceutical use that makes the compound completely reproducible and further is obtainable in an increased stable form over time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for obtaining agomelatine of the crystal form V comprises dissolving agomelatine of formula (I) in one or two solvents which are miscible in any ratio and whose boiling point is lower than 120°C, and subsequently atomizing the solution using a spray drier.
