<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silent chain reduced in weight, without causing strength reduction, by preventing deformation, strength reduction and damage in a part of an inner plate where stress easily concentrates. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the inner plate 4 of this silent chain 1, a plate thickness of the stress easily concentrating part is formed thicker than a part other than that by a swelling part of at least one plate surface. A peripheral part of a pin hole 2 of the inner plate 4 is formed thick by a swelling part 6 of an outer peripheral edge part of the pin hole 2 formed on the plate surface 4a, and a peripheral part of a crotch part 5 is formed thick by a swelling part 7 of a crotch part edge part.
