<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surveillance camera system and camera monitoring method in which monitoring accuracy in monitoring a wrongful act using an image photographed by a surveillance camera can be improved and further, a malfunction may also be hardly incurred in such monitoring. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A vehicle 1 includes a panic system 17 wherein a warning is issued by the vehicle 1 when a panic radio wave Spn is transmitted from an electronic key 2 by operating a panic button 16 of the electronic key 2. Furthermore, when receiving the panic radio wave Spn, the vehicle 1 transmits a trigger radio wave Str to relay the panic radio wave to a camera apparatus 21. When receiving the trigger radio wave Str by an adaptive array antenna 25 of the camera apparatus's own, the camera apparatus 21 calculates a radio wave arrival direction on the basis of the received radio wave. The camera apparatus 21 matches an photographing direction of a surveillance camera 23 to the radio wave arrival direction and turns a camera lens toward the vehicle 1.
