PURPOSE: An automatic apparatus and a method for nucleic acid extraction are provided to improve processing capability per unit time by automatically extracting high purity nucleic acid from a plurality of samples in a short time. CONSTITUTION: An automatic apparatus(100) comprises: a rotating body(210); recovery tubes which are arranged in a plurality of lines in an outside direction from the center of a rotator; column tubes which are inserted into the inner side of recovery tubes arranged at the outmost line and filter biological materials; a unit(400) supplying cleansing material to the column tubes; and a transfer unit(300) transferring the column tubes.
