PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating cycle device capable of securely detecting an abnormal state of an expansion mechanism for performing power recovery and of achieving efficient operation. SOLUTION: The refrigerating cycle device is provided with a compression mechanism 11, a use side heat exchanger 12, the expansion mechanism 14 for performing power recovery, a heat source side heat exchanger 15, and a discharge temperature detection means 41 for detecting the discharge temperature of the compression mechanism 11. When a difference between a target value of the discharge temperature of the compression mechanism 11 and a detection value by the discharge temperature detection means 41 exceeds a predetermined value, it is determined that the operation of the expansion mechanism 14 is abnormal. Thus, the refrigerating cycle device can securely detect the abnormal state of the expansion mechanism 14 such as step-out of a power generator 13 for controlling the rotational frequency of the expansion mechanism 14, inclusion of foreign matters etc. to a seal part of the expansion mechanism 14 or shortage of oil supply to the seal part, and achieve efficient operation.
