PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a compact, light-weight and easily-assembled seat sliding device including mechanisms (a stopper 19 and a locking part 29) longitudinally shiftably supporting an automobile seat and restricting its shift range. SOLUTION: In the seat sliding device, the stopper 19 is arranged to protrude inward from the inner wall of an outer sidewall 11 at a lower position than the lower end of a hanging-down portion 13 of a lower rail 1 of the outer sidewall 11; and the corresponding locking part 29 is arranged to protrude outward from the outer distal end of a bottom plate 21 of an upper rail 2 or from a side plate 22.
